Summary: The scope of work for this project includes design and construction of renovation of an existing warming shelter building at Caldwell Woods to offer year-round recreation and wellness programs, visitor information on nearby recreation facilities, natural resources and volunteer opportunities. The project will also include accessibility, energy efficiency, wayfinding signs, and other related improvements. The IDNR Park and Recreational Facility Construction (PARC) Grant Program would fund 75% of the estimated total project cost of $1,638,500.00 and the Forest Preserves would provide 25% match estimated at $409,700.00.
