Summary: The Forest Preserves issued a Request for Proposals to assist in developing strategies and action plans to achieve energy efficiency and renewable energy goals and prioritize capital investment. Eleven (11) firms submitted proposals. A selection committee reviewed the proposals and found 360 Energy Group, LLC to be the most responsive.
The selected vendor 360 Energy Group, LLC is an energy consultant based in Chicago that works closely with the Smart Energy Design Assistance Center (SEDAC), an applied research program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign whose mission is to reduce the energy footprint of the state of Illinois and to increase access to energy efficiency services and jobs. SEDAC will be a subconsultant to 360 Energy Group on this project.
There is currently no inhouse staff with the expertise or capacity to perform the proposed services, which include in-depth energy audits for three (3) Forest Preserves facilities, more limited audits for another ten facilities and prioritization strategy for energy and building envelope projects at over 100 other buildings. Recommendations will inform future professional services for detailed design of construction projects. The scope of work also includes the development of Green Building Standards for rehabilitation of existing buildings and new construction.
Optional extension years are for additional energy related studies and strategies as well as monitoring recommendation results and adjustments to the overall implementation plans as needed. end
