PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION
Department: Department of Planning and Development
Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into a construction contract with Matthew Paving, Inc., primary place of business Oak Lawn, Illinois, for Districtwide Transportation Improvements at Beaubien Woods Boat Launch in Chicago, Erickson Woods in Winnetka and Tinley Creek Trail - Green Spur in Oak Forest.
Reason: Contract #74000008008 issued under Project #19-80-67G-20C2 Districtwide Transportation Improvements at Beaubien Woods Boat Launch, Erickson Woods and Tinley Creek Trail - Green Spur. The work includes, but is not limited to, pavement resurfacing, drainage and sidewalk improvements, and other related work as specified in the plans and specifications. Work at Beaubien Woods is the subject of a pending grant request that includes other visitor amenities. If rejected, the proposed transportation improvements would be funded primarily by Motor Fuel Tax funds through an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways.
