Proposed Agreement Extension: 1/1/2023 (retroactive) - 6/1/2026. DOTH administratively approved an extension to 6/30/2025 but the Forest Preserves inadvertently overlooked bringing the extension to the Board of Commissioners for approval.

Summary: On 9/24/2019, the Forest Preserves of Cook County Board of Commissioners approved the acceptance of grant funding through the Invest in Cook program in the amount of $176,000.00, or 80% of the estimated total of $220,000.00, for Phase 2 Engineering Services for the Des Plaines River Trail Bridge project at the Union Pacific Railroad tracks between Golf Road and Central Road (Board Item No. 19-0370). DOTH’s Invest in Cook program helps cover the cost of planning and feasibility studies, engineering right-of-way acquisition, and construction associated with transportation improvements sponsored by local and regional governments and private partners. Work has been substantially completed, but a time extension of the agreement is needed to allow for processing of the final reimbursement requests for this project. Final amendment is subject to legal review and approval.
