Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING COMMISSIONER TIMOTHY O. SCHNEIDER WHEREAS, Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider, began his career in 2006 as a member of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners; and WHEREAS, it is the mission of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County "to acquire, restore and manage lands for the purpose of protecting and preserving public open space with its natural wonders, significant prairies, forests, wetlands, rivers, streams, and other landscapes with all of its associated wildlife, in a natural state for the education, pleasure and recreation of the public now and in the future;" and WHEREAS, the Forest Preserves District of Cook County has an over one hundred-year history, currently spans almost seventy thousand acres, shares over sixty million visits annually, and contributes immeasurably to the quality of life of residents of Cook County and scientific research and conservation, including public-private partnerships with the Brook...

HONORING COMMISSIONER TIMOTHY O. SCHNEIDER

WHEREAS, Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider, began his career in 2006 as a member of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners; and

WHEREAS, it is the mission of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County "to acquire, restore and manage lands for the purpose of protecting and preserving public open space with its natural wonders, significant prairies, forests, wetlands, rivers, streams, and other landscapes with all of its associated wildlife, in a natural state for the education, pleasure and recreation of the public now and in the future;" and

WHEREAS, the Forest Preserves District of Cook County has an over one hundred-year history, currently spans almost seventy thousand acres, shares over sixty million visits annually, and contributes immeasurably to the quality of life of residents of Cook County and scientific research and conservation, including public-private partnerships with the Brookfield Zoo and Chicago Botanic Garden; and

WHEREAS, he received his bachelors' degree from the University of Illinois and, prior to serving as a Forest Preserve of Cook County Commissioner, served as a Hanover Township Trustee and Hanover Township Highway Commissioner; and

WHEREAS, his private business acumen includes ownership of the Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin, and Waterwerks Car Wash in Elgin allowing him to lend expert advice and guidance regarding the Forest Preserves' eleven golf courses; and

WHEREAS, his passion for connecting people to nature reflected in his commitment to the annual Fishing Derby at Busse Woods and his multiple victories at the Forest Preserve Foundation's Conservation Cup; and
