Summary:  The Facilities and Fleet Department received permission from the Vehicle Steering Committee on April 23, 2019 to decommission eight (8) Forest Preserve police vehicles due to age and condition; and purchase eight (8) new vehicles to be assigned to the Police Department.  This request will be funded with existing capital funds and is not associated with funds identified in the proposed GO bond request.  These vehicles will be outfitted with hybrid electric engines, in order to support the Forest Preserves sustainability goals and to reduce greenhouse gas production.
