Summary: The Vehicle Steering Committee (VSC) voted to decommission a total of eighteen (18) vehicles at the meeting held on 4/19/2021 and to decommission two (2) vehicles at the meeting held on 12/7/2020. At the VSC meeting held on 4/19/2021, the VSC voted to acquire a total of twenty (20) vehicles: nineteen (19) new vehicles for the Law Enforcement Department and one (1) new vehicle for the Resource Management Department.

The two (2) new vehicles to be purchased under this proposed contract will be assigned to support the K-9 Unit. Two (2) new Bloodhounds were acquired in September of 2020. $75,000.00 of the purchase price will be reimbursed via a Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) per the Intergovernmental Agreement with Cook County approved by the Board of Commissioners on 1/26/2021 (Board Item No. 21-0109).
