Summary: A time extension and no-cost change in the scope of work for this contract is needed to update construction bid documents and perform other related services prior to bid posting by the Illinois Department of Transportation (“IDOT”) after an extended project delay. The scope of work under a prior contract amendment approved by the Forest Preserves Board of Commissioners on 1/23/2024 (Board Item No. 24-0002) has changed due to delays in securing permission from the Union Pacific Railroad and IDOT to construct and maintain a new pedestrian bridge over Union Pacific Railroad tracks on the Des Plaines River Trail. In addition to updating bid documents, related required services may include securing required real estate documentation services, responding to requests for information, reviewing shop drawings, and providing administrative support during construction.
