Summary: Contract #74000008739 issued under Project #20-80-10A consists of providing construction services to replace two (2) heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at Sand Ridge Nature Center. Additional time and funds are required to complete the scope of this agreement that was initially awarded through a competitive bid process.
After the equipment was ordered and delivered, All Chicago, Inc. (”All Chicago”) discovered the equipment specified by HOH Associates, Inc (“HOH”), the design firm for the project, would not fit into the existing space and different equipment and additional modifications were required to replace the existing systems.
After extensive negotiations, Forest Preserves staff have agreed to an increase to All Chicago’s contract in the amount of $80,392.73 for costs incurred to order new equipment, make modifications to existing conditions to allow the re-designed systems to fit, and for charges incurred in the delay of the project, subject to reimbursement of $47,852.97 for most of these costs by the design firm, HOH. In addition to an increase in the contract amount, the contract end date will also be extended to provide additional time to order the correct equipment, have it manufactured, delivered, and installed.
