Request: Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to grant permanent and temporary easements to Illinois Department of Transportation (“IDOT”) at Rand Road and the Des Plaines River for 0.040 permanent and 0.044 temporary acres or 1,731 permanent and 1,916 temporary square feet.
Reason: IDOT has requested two (2) small permanent easement areas and two (2) small temporary easement areas on the south side of Rand Road between the Des Plaines River and the Des Plaines River Trail in Belleau Woods for relocation of a sidewalk and trail crossing by a few feet as part of a larger bridge and road infrastructure project. The project is proposed to improve aging bridge and road infrastructure, as well as improve pedestrian safety along Rand Road.
Structures proposed to be built on Forest Preserves land. IDOT proposes to relocate the sidewalk along the south side of Rand Road, placing it behind the guardrails, which will be moved immediately adjacent to the curb, to keep a barrier between vehicles and pedestrians. Add | approve | Pass |
