The Tree Mitigation Plan is utilized as a tool to determine the value of trees that are lost due to license and easement requests affecting Forest Preserve property. The valuation formula is driven by a dollar amount for the cross sectional area of the tree in square inches. The current standardized value of $71/in. was set by the Illinois Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture for the northern section of Illinois, and has not been updated since 2007.

Join us after the June board meeting to celebrate all things in the Forest Preserve and kick off our summer programming. We are at Daley Plaza until 2 pm with information, giveaways, live animals and fun bird activities. The noontime performance with the Andean musical group Sisai is part of our #birdthepreserves initiative and celebrates birds’ migratory journey between North and South America.

Canyon Tours, Sagawau Environmental Learning Center, Lemont

WHEREAS, the Illinois Public Employee Labor Relations Act (5 ILCS 315/1 et seq.) has established regulations regarding collective bargaining with a union; and
WHEREAS, the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule and wage adjustments, as well as healthcare revisions, and other terms and conditions of employment, for the period of January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2017, for the patrol officers of the District Police Department, all of whom are members of the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council (Patrol Unit) collective bargaining unit have been negotiated between the Preserves and the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council; and
