WHEREAS, on April 5, 2022, the Board of Commissioners approved the collective bargaining agreement negotiated between the Forest Preserves of Cook County and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 134 (Board Item No. 22-0131) with an amendment approved on January 24, 2023 (Board Item No. 22-0497) and such collective bargaining agreement will expire December 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Agreement has been entered into between the Forest Preserves of Cook County and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 134 (“IBEW”) to extend the term of the collective bargaining agreement through December 31, 2025; and

WHEREAS, the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act (5 ILCS 315/1 et seq.) has established regulations regarding collective bargaining with a union; and
WHEREAS, on April 5, 2022, the Board of Commissioners approved the collective bargaining agreement negotiated between the Forest Preserves of Cook County and the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail & Transportation Workers (SMART), Local No. 73 (Board Item No. 22-0128) with an amendment approved on January 24, 2023 (Board Item No. 22-0497) and such collective bargaining agreement will expire December 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Agreement has been entered into between the Forest Preserves of Cook County and the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail & Transportation Workers (SMART), Local No. 73 to extend the term of the collective bargaining agreement through December 31, 2025; and
