Request: Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”), as Licensor to grant a License to Nicor Gas Company (“Nicor”), Grantee, to locate, operate and maintain 5,783 feet of gas line mainly within Golf Road right-of-way in Big Bend Lake and Harms Woods South, except roughly 1,400 linear feet of existing gas line that runs within Big Bend Lake Preserve and under existing Union-Pacific Railroad line. 4,975 feet of the requested 5,783 foot gas line is an existing 18” gas line that was permitted by the Forest Preserves in 1946, however, that permit expired and needs to be brought into compliance as a license. The remaining 808 feet of requested linear feet is a new 20” gas line within the Golf Road right-of-way at Big Bend Lake. IDOT is completing a reconstruction project of Golf Road and asked that Nicor update the gas line infrastructure at that location. One (1) dead tree is scheduled for removal.
