Summary: Attorneys and paralegals in the Forest Preserves' Legal Department use LexisNexis site for comprehensive web-based, online legal research and related services that are essential to their operations and provides access to primary and secondary legal documents, rules and regulations, case law and court documents. The Forest Preserves seeks authorization to continue to use LexisNexis on a sole source basis. Agreements for online services are often form agreements that apply to a general class of customer, which is the case here as well. Thus, the proposed new contract includes some non-standard provisions for the Forest Preserves. On 9/24/2020, the Cook County Board of Commissioners approved a contract with LexisNexis for use by its State's Attorney's Office and other agencies (Board Item No. 20-4183).
