Summary:  The Department of Facilities and Fleet received permission from the Vehicle Steering Committee on 11/20/2023 to decommission two (2) vehicles due to age, high mileage, and condition; and purchase two (2) new vehicles. The Forest Preserves is requesting the purchase of two (2) Loadmaster Enviromaster 18-cubic yard split body EV refuse garbage trucks with dual tailgate and cart lifters. These trucks are part of the refuse modernization program, as well as the first in the Department of Landscape Maintenance’s refuse fleet to run on EV with split body. The split body will allow us to collect both the landfill and recycling garbage saving time, staff resources, and fuel; as well as improve customer services out in our preserves. The vendor is an authorized dealer of referenced vehicles.
