Summary: The recently awarded contract with SMG Security Holdings for camera repair and maintenance was silent on the Genetec licensing that facilitates the Forest Preserves use of the cameras. SMG Security Holdings is Genetec’s channel partner and employes specialists that are trained to design, install, and maintain Genetec systems. The addition of the licensing support on a sole source basis will allow time to complete an RFP proposal package that would include upgraded hardware, software, maintenance, and licensing support which would be posted in the fall of FY 2024 with implementation pending the FY 2025 budget.
