Summary: The Forest Preserves of Cook County is requesting to purchase two (2) Argo Aurora 850 SE amphibious vehicles with bed liner, hood rack, and front winch kits. Argo vehicles are specialized all-terrain vehicles used by the Department of Resource Management to facilitate land management and wildlife research operations. As certified amphibious vehicles, Argos are capable of traversing both land and water, enabling access to difficult to reach areas such as wetlands for more efficient application of prescribed fire or herbicide to control invasive species. Bristol Equipment and Rentals is the sole authorized dealer of Argo vehicles in northeast Illinois. This is a sole source procurement.
