Summary: The proposed Intergovernmental Agreement would grant the Village of Hoffman Estates (“Hoffman Estates”) limited access to Forest Preserves of Cook County (“Forest Preserves”) property for the purpose of maintaining a 0.44-acre parcel on Algonquin Road, just west of Versailles Road. Said property has been identified as a surplus parcel, as it is not contiguous with or connected to any other Forest Preserves property (see Forest Preserves Code Section 2-5-3). Hoffman Estates will be responsible for all mowing and vegetation management on the parcel, subject to the Forest Preserves’ approval of a vegetation maintenance plan. The site will be maintained at no cost to the Forest Preserves, and such efforts will mitigate growth of invasive species on the property and provide a cost savings benefit to the Forest Preserves. Final agreement is subject to legal review and approval.
