Summary: A time extension and contract increase are needed for this construction contract involving new asphalt access drives and adjacent parking areas for a recently acquired site known as Villa Santa Maria. After the contract was awarded, additional stormwater detention work was needed after learning from Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) permit officials that newly restored areas from building demolition would not be counted as reducing the overall proposed development area or the associated stormwater detention requirements. The size of the bioretention and rain garden areas had to be significantly increased. The project was originally approved by the Forest Preserves of Cook County Board of Commissioners on 7/26/2022 (Board Item No. 22-0308).
