Summary: The Forest Preserves is presently utilizing a contract that is piggybacked from a Cook County contract for IT hardware and services (Cook County Board Item Nos. 19-4551 and 19-5255). As a result of increased capital development and staffing made possible by the successful referendum in November 2022, the Forest Preserves' IT resources/hardware and services must be increased to meet the demands of the expanding work.
The Forest Preserves' Finance and Administration Department is requesting an amendment to increase the spending amount with the current vendor. In FY 2023 and FY 2024, there are eight (8) anticipated capital projects, including the complete reconstruction of the Forest Preserves Police Command Center. The proposed increase will ensure that the new staff have computer-technology resources required to achieve the Forest Preserves' mission.
