Summary: Metropolitan Industries is the sole Cook County authorized distributor of the Pentair hydromatic pump, proprietary brackets, and proprietary rail system that the Forest Preserves uses in its comfort stations. No other pumps and supplied proprietary brackets will fit the rail and discharge system for the Forest Preserves comfort stations. After researching the cost and process to redesign these stations, the Forest Preserves concluded a sole source contract is the most cost-effective option.
