Summary:  In 2022, the vendor worked with the CEP team on developing a vision and strategic plan.  The vendor was selected out of a competitive RFP process for which there were a total of three (3) respondents.  The Forest Preserves now seeks authorization to enter into a new contract with this vendor on a sole source basis to assist with implementing the vision and strategic plan developed last year, including, without limitation, (1) implementing a new departmental mission statement, (2) redefining team leadership and internal processes, and (3) developing more inclusive and detailed external communications. The 2023 work will look to develop external strategic initiatives to move the department toward more thoughtful growth, with clearly defined goals, unified definitions related to community outreach and engagement, and a forward-thinking plan that leads to better serving the public and connecting more people to nature.
