PROPOSED PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT AMENDMENT
Request: Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to amend its Partnership Agreement with the Forest Preserve Foundation (the “Foundation”).
Reason: The Forest Preserves wishes to extend its partnership agreement with the Forest Preserve Foundation for four (4) years and continue its annual financial contribution
Contract Period: (12/16/2014) 1/1/2015 - 12/31/2019; Board Approved Extension (11/19/2019) 1/1/2020 - 12/31/2020; Board Approved Extension (11/17/2020) 1/1/2021 - 12/31/2021; and Board Approved Extension (11/2/2021) 1/1/2022 - 12/31/2022
Proposed Partnership Agreement Extension: 1/1/2023 - 12/31/2026
Fiscal Impact: Not to Exceed $200,000.00 (FY 2023 $80,000.00, FY 2024 $60,000.00, FY 2025 $40,000.00, FY 2026 $20,000.00), plus in-kind contributions up to $25,000.00 per fiscal year.
Previously authorized contributions total a Not to Exceed amount of $950,000.00, plus in-kind contributions.

Summary: The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to raise funds to support programs, and to protect and restore native habitats, within the Forest Preserves. The Foundation’s work encourages philanthropic and business entities to make financial contributions toward priorities of the Forest Preserves. The Forest Preserves recognizes the benefits that an established foundation can provide and has determined that extending its agreement with the Foundation for the appropriation of funds and in-kind contributions, such as office space and services, is appropriate to further the mission of the Forest Preserves.
