Summary: The proposed contract involves engineering design and construction management services for certain transportation-related capital projects funded primarily by the transfer of Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds over the next three (3) years through an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Cook County Department of Transportation & Highways (“CCDOTH”) approved by the Forest Preserves Board of Commissioners on 2/25/2020 (Board Item No. 20-0007). The proposed consultant scope would include design and/or construction management for access roads with parking areas and several miles of paved trails, related ADA improvements, stormwater drainage and pedestrian safety improvements. Some improvements that are not eligible for MFT grant funds would be funded through other Forest Preserves capital funds.
Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. was chosen by a selection committee, staff of the Department of Planning and Development, in response to a qualification-based selection process (RFQ 19-80-67G-22). Nine (9) firms submitted qualifications in response to the RFQ.
