Summary: An increase in the original contract value is requested to allow the Vendor to complete Phase II engineering design work for a new major task (Des Plaines Trail rehabilitation) and proceed with a portion of 2022 construction oversight that was originally assigned under the contract. A federal grant for the Des Plaines Trail work was awarded in late 2021, resulting in an urgent need to reprioritize work for that project. A modest additional increase will allow oversight of a construction contract that is expected to be awarded in June and avoid delays in construction that would otherwise result if this work were put out to bid in a new solicitation. ...
