Summary: Phase III engineering services are needed to oversee the rehabilitation of approximately 1.7 miles of the Des Plaines Trail and construction of a new pedestrian bridge over Lawrence Avenue. A federal grant awarded by CMAP through the locally programmed TAP-L Transportation Alternative Program will fund 80% of the engineering services and construction costs and is the subject of separate grant award approval (Board Item No. 22-0223). As provided in a separate Local Partnership Agreement which is the subject of a separate authorization resolution (Board Item No. 22-0224), the Forest Preserves will be responsible for 20% of the cost.
