Summary: This grant award by CMAP through the locally programmed Transportation Alternative Program (TAP-L) is for reconstruction of a portion of the Des Plaines Trail between Bryn Mawr Avenue and Irving Park Road (also known as Segments 3 and 4) to address chronic flooding and related safety hazards. This portion of the trail is unusable for a significant portion of the year. The reconstruction project includes realignment of portions of the trail outside of the floodplain, replacement of an existing underpass with a new pedestrian bridge over Lawrence Avenue, construction of some boardwalk and other improvements.
