PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION
Department: Department of Resource Management
Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into a contract with Trees “R” Us, Inc., primary place of business Wauconda, Illinois, for tree removals adjacent to the North Branch trail system.
Reason: Contract #74000010457 issued under Project #22-31-102 North Branch Tree Removals consists of the removal of four hundred and ninety-eight (498) trees and other related work as specified in the plans and specifications between Lake-Cook Road and Foster Avenue following the North Branch trail system. Trees marked for pruning and removal occur along both paved and multi-use trails within the North Branch trail system, as well as along roadsides and private property interfaces.
This vendor has been awarded more than $150,000.00 in fiscal year 2022, therefore, the contract is being presented to the Forest Preserves of Cook County Board of Commissioners for approval per the Forest Preserves’ Procurement Code.
