PROPOSED PREVIOUSLY APPROVED ITEM AMENDMENT

Request: Requesting to amend Board Item No. 19-0284 to account for additional tree mitigation fees collected from Northern Illinois Gas Company d/b/a Nicor Gas Company ("Nicor") related to a license agreement for the installation of a gas pipeline along the north edge of Busse North Forest Preserve and Nature Preserve.
During the course of construction, operations necessitated the removal of an additional nine (9) trees at the perimeter of the licensed area that were not accounted for in the original tree survey, with an additional mitigation value totaling $19,323.56. Following the review and approval of the Forest Preserves of Cook County, the General Superintendent authorized work to proceed with the understanding that additional tree mitigation fees associated with these supplemental tree impacts would be collected, per the terms of the existing license. The proposed amendment will incorporate these additional trees and tree mitigation fee into the record of board approval. Total tree mitigation fees to be collected in association with this project, including this additional amount, are $2,855,711.05.

Request: Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the "Forest Preserves"), as Licensor to grant a License to Northern Illinois Gas Company dba Nicor Gas Company ("Nicor"), Grantee, to locate, operate and maintain 7,368 linear feet of 36-inch and 24-inch natural gas pipelines along the north edge of the Busse North Forest Preserve and Nature Preserve. The two (2) pipelines will replace the existing pipelines granted under License Nos. 313 and 313A, in 1958 and 1970, respectively.
