PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION
Department: Department of Resource Management
Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into a contract with Groundskeeper Landscape Care, primary place of business Orland Park, Illinois, for tree removals in and adjacent to Thatcher Woods.
Reason: Contract #74000009630 issued under Project #21-31-105 Thatcher Area Tree Removals consists of the removal of five hundred and twenty-eight (528) trees and other related work as specified in the plans and specifications between Belmont Avenue and Madison Street along the Des Plaines River. Trees will primarily be removed in high public interface areas including along trails, groves, and roadways.
This vendor has been awarded more than $150,000.00 in fiscal year 2021, therefore, the contract is being presented to the Forest Preserves of Cook County Board of Commissioners for approval per the Forest Preserves’ Procurement Code.
