PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION
Department: Department of Resource Management
Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into a construction contract with Meru Corporation, primary place of business Niles, Illinois, for a water outlet improvement project at Powderhorn Lake in Chicago.
Reason: Contract #74000009403 issued under Project #21-31-109 Powderhorn Lake Outlet Improvements. The work includes, but is not limited to, a series of storm sewers to create a fish passage system connecting Powderhorn Lake to Wolf Lake, and other related work as specified in the plans and specifications. A majority of the construction will be funded through a grant sub-awarded to the Forest Preserves from Audubon Great Lakes via the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in 2020 (Board Item No. 20-0169) to complete the design, permitting, and construction of a water control structure at Powderhorn Lake.
