Summary:  A solicitation was issued in 2020 for parts only, specific to Bobcat brand OEM parts. The selected bidder was an entity with which the Forest Preserves did not have experience and to date such vendor has performed unsatisfactorily. To remedy this situation, the Forest Preserves is recommending an agreement with Atlas Bobcat, who also responded to the solicitation and with whom the Forest Preserves has had positive experiences in the past.

Additional to this contract request is repair services, which was not part of the original scope of the solicitation. The Forest Preserves requests the addition of such services on a sole source basis. The proposed vendor is an authorized service center for Bobcat brand equipment. The Forest Preserves’ Facilities and Fleet Department manages the repair and maintenance needs for approximately eighty (80) different pieces of Bobcat equipment to support our construction and land management efforts.
