Summary: On 3/22/2016, the Board of Commissioners approved the Forest Preserves entering into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the River Forest Park District (“RFPD”) for use of the Cummings Square baseball and softball field located on the corner of Lake and Bonnie Brae Streets in River Forest, Illinois. On 3/19/2019, the Board authorized extension of the agreement, which expired on 3/31/2020. No use of the field took place post 3/31/2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This new agreement will allow RFPD to resume use of the Cummings Square baseball and softball field. In exchange for non-exclusive use of the site, RFPD will perform field work and outfield drainage on an ongoing basis. Furthermore, RFPD will provide an ADA accessible portable restroom during the baseball season. RFPD’s use of the field is not anticipated to interfere with any Forest Preserves programming at Cummings Square. The final agreement will be subject to legal review and approval.
