Summary: The proposed Intergovernmental Agreement would grant the Village of Northbrook (“Northbrook”) and the Northbrook Park District (the “Park District”) limited access to Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) property for the purpose of maintaining a 7-acre meadow on Sunset Ridge Road, just south of Midway Road. Northbrook and the Park District will be responsible for all mowing and vegetation reduction in the meadow, subject to the Forest Preserves’ approval of an annual vegetation maintenance plan. The site will be maintained at no cost to the Forest Preserves. The proposed work will mitigate growth of invasive species until more comprehensive restoration work can be conducted on the site, as funding allows. Final agreement is subject to legal review and approval.
