Summary: The Forest Preserves is requesting that its contract with Lakeshore Recycling Systems be extended and increased for Region 1 which consists of the Calumet, Tinley Creek, and Palos Divisions. During this extension the price will increase from $46.36 per ton to $52.00 per ton. The original contract was a three (3) year contract with two (2), one-year renewal options ending with the start of the 2021 season. Due to COVID-19, the Forest Preserves has had limited ability to obtain reasonable bids for Refuse Disposal Sites for the 2021 season. In 2021, the Forest Preserves intends to go out for bid for a new contract.
