Summary: The Forest Preserves features over 225 miles of unpaved trails, including hiking trails at Forest Preserves nature centers and campgrounds that require repairs and improvements from time to time. The proposed contract for professional civil engineering services includes preliminary engineering, final engineering, permitting, bidding assistance, and construction administration assistance for repairs and improvements of trouble spots at various locations across the Forest Preserves, including but not limited to segments of hiking trails at four (4) nature centers, one (1) campground and several regional trail systems, including Des Plaines, Deer Grove and Thorn Creek trail systems.
Hey and Associates, Inc., was selected by a committee of the Department of Planning and Development staff in response to a request for proposals (RFP No. 21-80-03). Eight (8) firms submitted proposals in response to the request.
