Summary:  Renovation of the Crabtree Nature Center is proposed to update exhibits and signage as well as improve accessibility and energy efficiency. Building renovation would include new entrance doors and welcome desk, redesigned and refreshed interpretive exhibits, energy-efficient lighting, windows and HVAC system replacement. Site enhancements would include new signage and access improvements. The IDNR Museum Capital Grant would fund 75% of the estimated cost of improvements.

 

Total project costs are estimated to be $1,000,000.00 of which the Forest Preserves is providing $250,000.00.
