Summary:  The Forest Preserves has been awarded grant funds by the Forest Preserve Foundation to support 2 acres of ecological restoration at Schubert’s Woods Preserve near the Village of Park Forest, along the Sauk Trail preserve system in southern Cook County. Schubert’s Woods is a rich woodland and floodplain forest that sits on an ancient moraine with rolling hills and is bisected by Thorn Creek. Restoration will include removal and treatment of invasive brush at a key location to improve the health of this preserve.

 

Total project costs to be covered in full by the grant amount are $9,000.00. The work will be conducted at no additional cost to the Forest Preserves. The grant award will require the execution of a grant agreement.
