The Forest Preserves applied for a portion of the County’s CRF, seeking to recover expenses incurred beginning July 2020 related to the Forest Preserves Department of Law Enforcement response to the current public health emergency, which includes assisting in the closures of buildings, parking lots and other locales deemed necessary, substantial site monitoring, and crowd control duties in the interest of public safety. Cook County has chosen to allocate $500,000.00 of its CRF to the Forest Preserves. Receipt of funding from the County is subject to review and approval by the Cook County Bureau of Finance Program Management Office (PMO) or other designated County office.
