Summary:  On 10/20/2020, the Forest Preserves of Cook County Board of Commissioners approved the Forest Preserves contract with Ameresco, Inc. (Agenda No. 20-0363) to advise the Forest Preserves on the procurement of electricity, natural gas, and renewable energy for its facilities. Ameresco has advised the Forest Preserves to enter into a contract with Constellation New Energy for one year. The negotiated rates for the Forest Preserves and Cook County are the same, however, each entity is recommended to have its own agreement. The Forest Preserves and Cook County staff worked together on creating an aligned utilities management program that supports shared goals related to sustainability and fiscal responsibility. The Forest Preserves and Cook County are executing the same strategic approach at the recommendation of Ameresco.
