PROPOSED PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT
Request: Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into a Partnership Agreement with Friends of Bluff Spring Fen, Elgin, Illinois.
Reason: Friends of Bluff Spring Fen, a volunteer-led conservation organization focused on the protection of Bluff Spring Fen Nature Preserve, wishes to contribute up to $5,000.00 to support habitat improvement work at Bluff Spring Fen Nature Preserve in northwest Cook County. The Forest Preserves and Friends of Bluff Spring Fen will collaborate to conduct restoration activities including brush and invasive plant control across a 20-acre area of the preserve.
Funding and contractual management services will be provided by the Friends of Bluff Spring Fen, at no direct cost to the Forest Preserves. The Forest Preserves wishes to partner with Friends of Bluff Spring Fen to assist in coordinating the proposed restoration activities. All projects will be subject to review and approval by the Forest Preserves prior to proceeding.
Contract period: Date of execution - 12/31/2023
Fiscal Impact: N/A. The Forest Preserves will provide in-kind staff support for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects.
