PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION
Department: Department of Facilities and Fleet
Request: Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into a construction contract with McDonagh Demolition Inc., Chicago, Illinois.
Reason: Contract #74000008367 issued under Project #20-80-32 is for abatement, demolition and site restoration services at various Forest Preserves locations. Thirty-eight (38) structures have been identified as buildings eligible for removal due to exceeding their useful life and are beyond fiscally responsible repair or restoration. Twenty-two (22) structures with up to sixteen (16) alternate units will be removed under this contract. These facilities are located in the areas of Arlington Heights, Barrington, Chicago, North Riverside, Palatine, Riverdale, and South Barrington.
