Summary: This proposed contract modification allows L.L. BEAN to continue providing outdoor recreation and nature-based activities including hiking, biking, camping, archery, and snowshoeing and to serve as a partner at Forest Preserves hosted events. In lieu of permit fees, L.L. BEAN will compensate the Forest Preserves with 20% of all registration fees collected from their participants for all courses conducted in the Forest Preserves. The Forest Preserves has received $17,297.21 since the start of this agreement. Participants of L.L. BEAN courses will also receive extensive environmental education to promote awareness of the Forest Preserves and their positive impact on communities and quality of life. Final amendment to extend the contract is subject to legal review and approval. While L.L. Bean has conducted several events in August of 2020 via permit, it has not conducted recreational classes under this contract in 2020 (due to the COVID-19 pandemic). L....
