PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION
Department: Department of Planning and Development
Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into a construction contract with Pan-Oceanic Engineering Co., Inc., primary place of business Chicago, Illinois, for concrete, earthwork, storm water and masonry work at the 119th Street trail underpass at LaGrange Road in Palos Hills, Illinois.
Reason: Contract #74000008007 issued under Project #20-80-34 119th Street Trail Underpass Repairs includes, but is not limited to, removing existing aggregate path, construction of concrete path pavement, storm sewer and drainage structure cleaning, storm sewer lining, drainage improvements, earthwork, tuckpointing and repairing a stone wall and other related work as specified in the plans and specifications at 119th Street trail underpass. Work would be funded in large part by a $200,000.00 grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Recreational Trails Program.
