PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION
2020 BOARD AGENDA MEETING ANNUAL CALENDAR DATES AND LOCATIONS (Amending and Restating Resolution 19-0437 as amended by Resolution 20-0201)
WHEREAS, in accordance with Title 1, Chapter 5, Section 4-1(a) of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Code of Ordinances, the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners shall hold regular meetings pursuant to an annual calendar adopted by resolution of the Board; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2.03 of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, every public body shall give public notice of the schedule of regular meetings at the beginning of each calendar or fiscal year and shall state the regular dates, times and places of such meetings; and
WHEREAS, on March 16, 2020 President Preckwinkle issued Executive Order 2020-3 which cancelled all Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioner meetings for the month of March; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Governor Pritzker's Executive Order 2020-07 (March 16, 2020), the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners held virtual board meetings in April and May; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Governor Pritzker's Executive Order 2020-39 (May 29, 2020), various provisions of the Open Meetings Act continue to be suspended to allow public bodies to meet and conduct business without being physically present in order to comply with physical/social distancing; and
WHEREAS, subsequently to the aforementioned, Public Act 101-0640 (effective June 12, 2020) amended the Open Meetings Act to allow meetings of members of a public body subject to the Act to occur without a quorum being physically present at the meeting in certain limited circumstances; and
WHEREAS, the Forest Preserve District desires to modify the previously scheduled off-site location (the Farm on Ogden, 3555 W. Ogden Ave., Chicago) for the September 2020 meeting of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commission...
