Summary: Hey & Associates was awarded project #17-31-105 to prepare a 90% pre-final engineering design for a water control system at Powderhorn Lake in 2017 (Board Items #17-0121 and #18-0163). This contract was issued via a competitive Request for Proposals process and completed in September 2018 with funding support from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources' Coastal Management Program. In 2020, the Forest Preserves received additional grant funding to complete the design, permitting, bidding, and construction of the designed water control system.
