Students have helped to design, build and use GONets - instruments used to monitor light pollution in the field. Working with the Forest Preserves of Cook County, Adler teams are pursuing the idea of applying for an International Dark-Sky Association Urban Dark Sky Place designation for the area surrounding Little Red Schoolhouse. Adler staff are excited about the opportunity to engage students in making a change through science with the potential to help expand the offerings of the Forest Preserves to their community.
