PROPOSED LICENSE REQUEST
Request: Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”), as Licensor to grant a License to Commonwealth Edison Company (“ComEd”), Grantee, to locate, operate and maintain 10,500 linear feet of underground and overhead electric lines, poles and equipment along Bateman Road from Algonquin Road south to Penny Road at the Spring Creek Preserves. The project is proposed to improve reliability and resiliency services to the surrounding communities, to minimize outages and more quickly identify outages and restore power. The existing 6,800 linear feet of overhead lines and infrastructure has no known license, the new license will include the existing line. An additional 3,700 linear feet will be added underground by directional bore to minimize impact to the Forest Preserves.

License Application Fee: $1,500.00
License Review Fees: $20,000.00
YELAR Fee: $6,450.00
Total one-time upfront fee of $338,900.41 for the term of the License

Grantee has met the insurance requirements under the License Agreement.
The Forest Preserves staff have reviewed this license application and plans and have found them to be acceptable; therefore, it is recommended that the Forest Preserves of Cook County Board of Commissioners approve the issuance of this license.
