PROPOSED AGREEMENT
Vendor: Chicago River Canoe and Kayak, Evanston, Illinois
Request: Requesting authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into an agreement
Reason: Contract 19-40-498 is a request for Boathouse Vendor Operations at the Tampier Lake Boathouse. The selected vendor, Chicago River Canoe and Kayak, was the sole respondent to the RFP after an exhaustive outreach effort. The previous vendor that operated the Tampier Lake Boathouse retired at the end of the 2019 season after many years of service. Chicago River Canoe and Kayak will be responsible for maintaining and providing boat rentals and related concessions at the Tampier Lake Boathouse.
Chicago River Canoe and Kayak has agreed to pay the Forest Preserves 5% of gross sales, plus the following annual fee per year:
FY 2020 $10,000.00; FY 2021 $11,000.00; FY 2022 $11,000.00; FY 2023 $12,000.00; FY 2024 $12,000.00; FY 2025 $13,000.00; FY 2026 $13,000.00
Contract period: 1/14/2020 - 12/31/2022; with two (2) two-year optional extensions to be exercised at the discretion of the General Superintendent.
