Summary: In addition to extending the contract, the proposed amendment will allow Go Ape to pay their annual fee to the Forest Preserves in quarterly installments in exchange for an annual administrative fee, based on prime lending rates. It also adds the option for the Forest Preserves to charge a late fee and requires background checks for Go Ape staff who work with unaccompanied minors, as part of a broader Forest Preserves effort. In 2018, the Go Ape agreement generated $75,000.00 for the Forest Preserves.
